Dementia Care

Providing care for people with dementia is rewarding and challenging. You can learn so much about human behaviour and thinking by being open to the challenges of caring for people living with dementia.

You will find these pages filled with opportunities for professional development (Training link), emotional and psychological support (EAP link), recruitment (Staff selection link), complaints assistance, and lots of ideas to stimulate your thinking and personal and professional development.

Person Centred Approach

We have a person centred approach to caring for people living with dementia. We combine this with other approaches such as relationship centred care which builds on the person-centred approach. The underlying philosophy of respect for the person regardless of role, ability or disability is the same. Both emphasise the importance of the social environment for the person living with dementia.

Skillful caring requires careful use of your skills with thoughtful reflection on your experience so that you can learn from the people you care for.

We hope you enjoy and find much benefit from these pages.
